We are currently seeking to recruit a Support Officer as part of the Local Resilience Forum (LFR) to join our team. The overarching objective of all our roles at Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service is to protect and prevent the loss of life, property and environment within our community. Nottingham & Nottinghamshire LRF work with multi agency partners to facilitate this role.
To achieve this objective as an effective member of the LRF team you will be contributing to the development and coordination of strategies and policies, you will also provide effective and efficient administrative support within the LRF, in preparation for managerial and executive meetings, as well as maintain tracking systems.
Key Responsibilities
*You will be responsible for delivering a high level of customer service to LRF, partners and the general public when contacted in person, by telephone or by other electronic means, as well as supporting the wider LRF subgroups Resilience Officers and Team Manager.
*You will provide flexible administrative support across the range of the LRF teams core roles, utilising word processing, spreadsheets, SharePoint, Resilience Direct and use products such as Power Automate, Adobe and Articulate to produce reports and online surveys and presentations.
*Working both independently and with team members, and in partnership with Government and multiple local organisations, you will support the development and shaping of new initiatives to effectively deliver key work of the LRF across Nottinghamshire.
*Daily activities will include managing a comprehensive electronic and paper-based filing and records system to ensure accountability for the LRF data and management information. Taking, writing and producing comprehensive minutes from meetings, managing the LRF email inbox and supporting the LRF with all aspects of administration. This is to strictly adhere to the Government Protective Marking System (GPMS) and all local Unit security policies and procedures.
*The role will also involve being part of an on-call 24-hour rota, working a one in four rota. You will be required to respond to a suitable work location within 50 minutes of a request for support from any LRF partner, with a view of establishing, logging and updating the response pages for any Tactical Coordinating Group (TCG) or Strategic Coordination Group (SCG) within a one-hour period.
Experience/Qualification
*Knowledge and experience in Emergency Planning and/or Business Continuity Management.
*Hold or be willing to complete the Business Administration qualification to NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
*Experience of working on projects and delivering business milestones, which includes the management of different resources and challenging situations
*Experience of writing briefings and reporting to middle level managers,
*customers and partners
*Knowledge and experience of Partnership working within a public sector environment
*Experience and understanding of the importance of maintaining confidentiality
*Ability to work effectively to deadlines and to manage tasks simultaneously
*IT literate with a thorough and demonstrable experience of Microsoft office suite and other relevant IT packages
*Ability to adapt to changing ways of working and priorities, sometimes at short notice, suggesting improvements as appropriate
