Full job descriptionASB Case Officer, Manchester City Council
Pay rate to £33.36 per hour
Vitalis are recruiting for experienced ASB Case Officer to work in a team in Manchester City Council.
This role is for two Anti-Social Behaviour Case Officers working across the city, but primarily based at the Town Hall Extension, Lloyd Street, Manchester City Centre.
We are looking for individuals who are comfortable engaging with people face to face on the street, as well as visiting residents and businesses. You will work closely with our key partners, such as Greater Manchester Police, often doing street-based activity to help engage with, support and enforce against anyone involved in ASB. Our approach involves prevention, early intervention and enforcement including taking cases to court. We provide a trauma-informed approach, with our focus on identifying support for those who need it, with the aim of helping to prevent further offending. You will also be expected to undertake standard neighbour nuisance casework, being confident in utilising informal and formal powers to help stop anti-social behaviour.
We require someone with the confidence and resilience to enforce legislation which can include issuing verbal warnings, written warnings and preparing cases for potential court action. You must be able to confidently explain your enforcement decisions and deal with any challenges politely and professionally.
We are looking for motivated individuals with excellent communication skills with a strong customer focus. Your skills enable you to effectively communicate with other professionals, victims, witnesses and ASB perpetrators. You can demonstrate active listening, empathy and assertiveness, with the ability to lead on responding to community safety issues in your area.
Don’t forget, if this role isn’t the perfect fit, we’re confident we can find one that is. We recruit across a wide range of public sector specialisms, including:
*Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO)
*Best Interest Assessor (BIA)
*Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)
