About the Role
The pain purpose of the role is to be responsible for the installation, commissioning, testing, and fault finding of small works fire alarm systems across a variety of customer sites.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who is customer focused, technically competent, and looking to further develop within a growing fire and security business.
What You’ll Be Doing
*Install and commission additions and modifications to existing fire alarm systems
*Work across a range of fire alarm platforms and protocols including Gent, Notifier, Protect, Kentec, Morley, C-Tec, and Hochiki
*Carry out works in a timely, safe, and efficient manner
*Perform system testing and inspections to ensure correct functionality and compliance
*Complete all required British Standard certification and commissioning documentation
*Troubleshoot and resolve fire alarm system faults and false alarms
*Ensure compliance with current fire safety standards including BS5839-1:202
*Maintain excellent customer relationships and provide a professional service at all times
*Communicate effectively with customers, engineers, and office teams regarding work progress and system status
What We’re Looking For
*Proven experience in fire alarm installation and commissioning
*Strong knowledge of addressable and conventional fire alarm systems
*Experience working with multiple manufacturers (Honeywell, Kentec)
*Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
*Good understanding of BS5839-1:2025 and associated regulations
*Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills
*Customer focused with a professional approach
*Relevant site certifications such as ECS, CSCS, or IPAF are desirable but not essential
*Full and clean UK Driving Licence
