Full job descriptionWe are recruiting for a HGV Technician to join our client’s busy commercial vehicle workshop in Southampton, Hampshire. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV Technician seeking a stable, rewarding career within a leading UK dealership group. The role involves working on a fleet of HGVs, maintaining operational efficiency, and providing essential roadside support.

*Overtime available, earning up to £19.50 per hour depending on shift worked
*48-hour week, 4 days on 4 days off, from 06:00 to 18:00 (days)

Duties of a HGV Technician:
*Diagnosing and repairing vehicles according to manufacturer standards
*Carrying out servicing, repairs, and fault diagnosis on HGVs
*Roadside breakdown assistance and call-outs
*Conducting vehicle inspections and MOT preparation/presentation
*Performing vehicle fault diagnosis and defect repairs
*Ensuring all work is completed within standard times
*Accurate completion of all relevant paperwork
Requirements of a HGV Technician:
*NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds qualification or equivalent as a HGV Technician
*Proven experience working on HGVs or Commercial Vehicles
*Strong organisational skills and technical knowledge
*Ability to use own initiative and work independently
*Full UK Driving Licence; HGV licence is advantageous
*Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
*Eligibility to work within the UK
