An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Administration Apprentice to join one of our longstanding clients, a busy and well-established farm veterinary practice.


This varied role will provide essential administrative support to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice, supporting both clients and veterinary professionals in a fast-paced environment.

The Requirements:


*Previous experience within a farming or veterinary environment highly desirable.
*Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
*Strong verbal and written communication skills.
*Reliable, punctual and professional approach.
*Ability to multitask and prioritise workload, particularly in emergency situations
*Good problem-solving skills with a calm and methodical approach.
*Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer systems (veterinary management systems desirable.)
*Positive attitude and willingness to support the wider team.


The Role:


*Manage appointment scheduling and communicate with clients by phone and email.
*Provide day-to-day administrative support to the veterinary team.
*Assist with laboratory administration, including sample processing and data entry where required.
*Register new clients and prepare new client information packs.
*Coordinate the submission of laboratory samples by courier or post.
*Process client payments by telephone and in person.
*Open and close the office and manage out-of-hours telephone transfers.
*Respond to client enquiries and direct queries appropriately.
*Monitor and order office consumables and stationery.
*Maintain accurate filing, archiving and practice records.
*Ensure the office, reception and administrative areas remain clean, organised and compliant with health and safety procedures.




Apprenticeship Information


You will be enrolled on the Level 3 Business Administration, typically completed over 18 months. This includes:


*Regular workplace-based learning supported by your training provider and line manager
*A minimum of 6 hours per week of off-the-job training
*Development of skills, knowledge, and behaviours aligned to the apprenticeship standard
*Completion of a portfolio and end-point assessment
*Functional Skills support in English or Maths if not previously achieved at Level 2


Prospects


Once you have completed your apprenticeship there will be the opportunity to potentially go into a permanent based role.
