Full job descriptionWorking for a busy Groundworks Subcontractor The client is looking for an experienced Plant Manager. Previous experience as a depot or workshop manager is crucial to the role and you must have managed a team of fitters & drivers.
Roles & Responsibilities:
*Regular Construction site visitation for plant inspection
*Organise & administrate the repair and maintenance of the plant
*Tracker maintenance
*Pre-delivery/ Return inspections
*Collaborate with manufacturers to resolve technical issues
*Coordinate & administrate LOLER and PUWER inspections of all plant
*Communicate details of breakdowns and the progress of ongoing repairs at the daily briefings
*Liaise with site managers to resolve plant issues and other requests where possible
*Source / raise orders for parts, consumables and services etc
*Follow up the progress of parts, service, and material orders to delivery
*Ensure workshop consumables and fitters’ van stocks are kept at a reasonable level
*Liaise with management regarding replacement & new plant
*General ad-hoc workshop duties such as stock takes, waste oil collection, disposal of batteries and tyres etc
*Manage health and safety of the workshop & associated yard
*As Workshop Manager control and manage a small team of mechanics and drivers, instruct and manage their workload effectively

Requirements:
*At least 3 years in a similar role as Workshop Manager
*Successful and proven progression (fitter – supervisor - manager)
*NVQ in plant maintenance or equivalent
*Driving Licence - Full
*Awareness of plant and vehicle legislation and policies

*Monday to Friday 7:30am-4:30pm
