Are you an experienced warehouse leader who thrives in a fast-paced distribution environment? Our client, a well-established B2B distribution business, is seeking a proactive and hands-on Warehouse Shift Manager to oversee their afternoon/evening operation.
This role is ideal for someone who can confidently lead a team, drive performance, maintain high standards of accuracy and safety, and ensure goods are processed and dispatched efficiently.
The Role
As the Warehouse Shift Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of warehouse operatives to ensure all warehouse functions are completed accurately and on time. You’ll oversee picking, loading, replenishment, stock rotation and stock integrity, while supporting smooth coordination with transport teams to ensure every order leaves the warehouse correctly and on schedule.
You will also be accountable for maintaining a safe working environment, monitoring team performance, delivering briefings, and ensuring compliance with operational processes and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, motivate and manage warehouse operatives during the 2pm–10:30pm shift
Ensure accuracy in picking, packing, loading and dispatch
Coordinate effectively with the Transport team to verify routes, loading plans and vehicle compliance
Maintain stock accuracy through rotation, cycle counting and investigation of discrepancies
Oversee daily shift briefs, handovers and operational reporting
Uphold high standards of Health & Safety and ensure compliance with all procedures
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs
Contribute to a clean, organised and efficient warehouse environment
About You
Experience working in a warehouse leadership or supervisory role (minimum 3 years)
Strong people leadership, communication and organisation skills
Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Confident using warehouse systems and Microsoft Office
Reliable, proactive and able to use your initiative
FLT licences (Reach/Counterbalance/PPT) desirable but not essential
