An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Associate Electrical Design Engineer to join the Birmingham office of a well-established, privately owned multi-disciplinary consultancy delivering integrated technical, engineering and development consultancy services across the UK.

Working closely with developers, infrastructure providers, commercial clients and public sector organisations, they provide trusted advice and technical solutions throughout the full project lifecycle, from early concept and feasibility stages through to detailed design, construction and handover.
Their Building Services team forms a key part of the wider consultancy, delivering innovative and energy-focused Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) design solutions across a diverse range of sectors including residential, commercial, education, cultural, industrial and regeneration developments.

The Role
As an Associate Electrical Design Engineer, you will take a leading role within the Building Services team, managing and delivering electrical design solutions across a range of sectors. You will provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with clients, design teams and junior engineers to deliver high-quality, coordinated electrical designs.

Responsibilities
*Lead and manage electrical building services design across a variety of sectors and project types.
*Produce and review electrical calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports.
*Oversee and contribute to electrical drawing production using AutoCAD and Revit.
*Complete electrical design calculations including power, lighting, containment and life safety systems.
*Provide technical leadership from concept design through to detailed design, coordination and construction support.
*Undertake surveys of existing electrical systems and produce clear technical reports.
*Prepare and review tender documentation, providing technical guidance to project teams.
*Monitor construction progress and act as a senior technical point of contact during delivery.
*Support witnessing, commissioning and project handover activities.
*Develop strong working relationships with clients, contractors and wider design teams.
*Mentor and support junior engineers, contributing to team development and knowledge sharing.
*Ensure compliance with company quality procedures and promote best practice across projects.
Requirements
*Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
*Strong electrical design experience within a building services consultancy environment.
*Experience delivering electrical design solutions across multiple project stages.
*Good knowledge of electrical systems including power, lighting, containment and life safety systems.
*Experience using AutoCAD, with Revit experience desirable.
*Working towards Chartered status or already Chartered with a relevant professional institution.
*Strong communication skills with the ability to manage client relationships and provide technical leadership.
*Full UK driving licence.
