Full job descriptionFinance Manager | Tamworth | Permanent | Salary circa £50,000 | Office Based | Pathway to Financial Controller
Are you the type of Finance Manager who enjoys identifying opportunities, driving improvements and making a genuine commercial impact?
We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business seeking a high-calibre Finance Manager who is hungry to make a difference. This is not a role for someone who simply wants to produce month-end accounts; we’re looking for a driven, ambitious individual who wants to influence decision-making, lead projects, improve processes and help shape the future direction of the business.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will play a pivotal role within the finance function while leading a team of four. You will be trusted to use your initiative, think outside the box and influence decision-making across the wider business.
This role offers a genuine progression pathway to Financial Controller for the right individual.
The Opportunity
As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and meaningful financial information while driving efficiencies and supporting commercial decision-making across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
*Producing monthly management accounts and delivering insightful variance analysis
*Managing weekly P&L reporting and performance analysis
*Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
*Coordinating the month-end process to ensure reporting deadlines are achieved
*Inventory accounting, stock reconciliations and cost analysis
*Maintaining balance sheet reconciliations and fixed asset registers
*Managing VAT returns, ONS reporting and intercompany reconciliations
*Assisting with year-end accounts and external audits
*Delivering projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the business
*Partnering with operational teams to identify efficiencies and opportunities for profitability improvement
*Leading, mentoring and developing a team of four, ensuring high standards and continuous development across the function
Personal Profile
This opportunity is perfect for an ambitious finance professional who enjoys influencing decisions, challenging existing processes and identifying opportunities to improve business performance. You will be naturally proactive, commercially aware and motivated by delivering tangible results, with the drive to continually improve both yourself and the business around you.
To be successful, you will bring:
*Previous experience within a Finance Manager, Senior Management Accountant or similar role
*Experience within a manufacturing environment (desirable)
*Strong management accounting and reporting experience
*Excellent Excel skills
*Experience leading or developing a team
*A hands-on approach with the confidence to take ownership and drive initiatives forward
*The ability to think commercially and identify opportunities to improve performance
*Strong communication skills and the confidence to build relationships across all levels of the business
