About the Role
We are currently recruiting for experienced and enthusiastic Catering Lecturers to join a range of well-established Further Education providers. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real impact on learners pursuing careers within the hospitality, catering, and food service industries.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging and effective lessons, supporting students in developing their culinary skills, industry knowledge, and understanding of professional kitchen practices while helping them achieve their academic and career goals.
Key Responsibilities
*Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Catering lessons.
*Teach Catering, Professional Cookery, Hospitality, and related programmes to learners across a range of levels and abilities.
*Assess, monitor, and track student progress.
*Provide constructive feedback and academic support to learners.
*Maintain accurate records in line with college requirements.
*Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
*Support learners in developing practical culinary skills and professional working practices.
*Ensure all practical activities are delivered in accordance with food hygiene, health and safety, and industry regulations.
*Contribute to learner achievement, retention, and progression.
Requirements
*Relevant degree or qualification in Catering, Professional Cookery, Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related subject.
*Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, or equivalent).
*Experience teaching Catering within Further Education, Higher Education, Secondary Education, or Adult Learning environments.
*Strong classroom management and communication skills.
*Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
*Ability to engage and motivate learners of varying abilities.
*Strong subject knowledge and a passion for catering and hospitality education.
*Industry experience within professional kitchens, restaurants, hotels, hospitality venues, or a related setting is desirable.
