Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to join a thriving contractor with a strong order book, loyal client base and an excellent reputation within the healthcare sector?
Our client is a well-established main contractor delivering a diverse range of healthcare, education and specialist construction projects across refurbishment, fit-out and new build environments. Thanks to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint a commercially astute Surveyor to join their team based in Halifax.


The Opportunity
*Working alongside an experienced Commercial Director and established project teams, you will take full commercial responsibility for multiple projects from procurement through to final account.
*Projects range in value from £50k to £8m, with most schemes falling between £500k and £2m, providing an excellent mix of varied and technically interesting work.

Key Responsibilities
*Commercial management of multiple refurbishment, fit-out and new build projects
*Procurement and negotiation of subcontract packages
*Preparation and submission of client valuations
*Management and agreement of variations
*Cost control and financial reporting throughout project lifecycles
*Production of CVRs, profit forecasts, cash flow forecasts and cost-to-complete reports
*Preparation and negotiation of final accounts
*Working closely with Contracts Managers and Site Managers to ensure commercial success
*Supporting and mentoring junior commercial team members where appropriate


Requirements
*Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
*Proven track record delivering refurbishment, fit-out and/or new build projects
*Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
*Strong understanding of subcontract procurement and commercial management
*Experience administering and managing projects under JCT contracts, including Design & Build forms
*Strong financial and contractual awareness
*Excellent communication and negotiation skills
*Good IT and reporting skills
*Healthcare sector experience would be advantageous, but is not essential

Location
This role is based full-time from the company’s West Yorkshire office, Monday to Friday, with site visits as required.
