Flexible Autism Support RolesWe are currently recruiting Part-Time and Supply Teaching Assistants to support a specialist autism school in Sheffield from September.
The school supports pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), including learners with communication difficulties, sensory needs, social interaction challenges and associated learning needs.
These flexible positions are ideal for experienced Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, Care Workers or Support Workers looking to gain experience or continue working within a specialist autism setting.
Key Duties*Provide classroom, group and 1:1 support.
*Support pupils’ learning, communication and social development.
*Help pupils manage routines and transitions throughout the day.
*Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
*Support sensory and communication strategies where required.
*Adapt to varying classroom and pupil needs.
Requirements*Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
*Previous autism-specific experience would be advantageous.
*Positive, patient and resilient approach.
*Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
*Flexible and reliable work ethic.
*Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
