Level 3 Teaching Assistant Required
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Nelson from September 2026.
This is a full-time role supporting pupils within a Year 5 classroom, making it an excellent opportunity for a confident and proactive Teaching Assistant who is passionate about helping children achieve their full potential.
The Role
As a Year 5 Teaching Assistant, you will:
*Support pupils in their learning both in whole-class and small-group settings.
*Work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
*Provide targeted interventions to support pupil progress.
*Encourage positive behaviour and classroom engagement.
*Assist in creating a stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
*Confidently cover PPA sessions when required, delivering pre-planned lessons and managing the classroom effectively.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must:
*Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
*Have previous experience working within a primary school setting.
*Be confident leading a class and covering PPA sessions.
*Have strong classroom management skills.
*Be enthusiastic, reliable, and adaptable.
*Possess excellent communication and teamwork skills.
*Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
