We are currently seeking reliable, enthusiastic and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to provide part-time and supply support within a specialist educational setting in Wakefield from September.
The provision supports children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), communication and interaction difficulties, moderate to severe learning difficulties, sensory needs, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

The RoleAs a Supply SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
*Provide classroom, small group and 1:1 support to pupils with SEND.
*Assist teaching staff in delivering engaging learning activities.
*Support pupils’ communication, emotional regulation and social development.
*Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
*Adapt to different classes and age groups as required.
*Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
*Support pupils with personal care where necessary.
RequirementsWe are looking for candidates who:
*Have previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
*Ideally have experience working within a specialist SEND school or alternative provision.
*Have knowledge of autism, communication needs and learning difficulties.
*Are caring, patient and resilient.
*Can build strong professional relationships with pupils and staff.
*Are flexible and comfortable working in different classroom settings.
*Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
