About the RoleDue to continued expansion, we are seeking a passionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
The school provides specialist education for children and young people with complex learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), communication and interaction difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), sensory needs, and associated learning difficulties. Our aim is to create a safe, nurturing and highly supportive environment where every pupil can achieve their full potential.
Working alongside teachers, therapists and other professionals, you will play a key role in supporting pupils both academically and socially, helping them develop confidence, independence and essential life skills.
Key Responsibilities*Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND.
*Assist in the delivery of personalised learning programmes.
*Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation and social interaction.
*Build positive relationships that encourage engagement and progress.
*Implement behaviour support strategies and individual support plans.
*Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, parents and external agencies.
*Support pupils with personal care where required.
*Contribute to the school’s positive, nurturing and inclusive culture.
About YouWe are looking for candidates who:
*Have previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
*Ideally have experience working within an SEND school or specialist provision.
*Have a strong understanding of autism, communication needs and complex learning difficulties.
*Are patient, resilient and adaptable.
*Can build positive relationships with pupils who may have experienced barriers to learning.
*Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
*Are passionate about making a genuine difference to the lives of young people.
