About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Operative to join a busy and growing operation based in Thatcham. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced warehouse environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety, and efficiency.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day warehouse function, ensuring goods are received, stored, picked, packed, and dispatched efficiently. Previous forklift experience would be highly beneficial but is not essential.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
*Receiving, unloading, and checking incoming deliveries.
*Picking, packing, and preparing orders for dispatch.
*Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently.
*Maintaining accurate stock levels and reporting discrepancies.
*Ensuring goods are stored correctly within the warehouse.
*Keeping the warehouse clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards.
*Assisting with stock counts and inventory management.
*Operating warehouse equipment safely and responsibly.
*Supporting the wider team to ensure operational targets are met.
*Using a forklift truck when required (if qualified).
Required Skills & Qualifications
*Previous experience working within a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment.
*Good attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
*Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
*Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to work.
*Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties.
*Understanding of health and safety procedures within a warehouse setting.
*Reliable, punctual, and hardworking attitude.
Desirable Skills
*Forklift Truck (Counterbalance) experience or licence.
*Previous experience using warehouse management systems (WMS).
*Experience with stock control and inventory management.
