With over 30 years of engineering excellence, we are seeking an outstanding Production & Operations Manager to lead our manufacturing facility in Maidenhead. This role is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced leader from a high-reliability electronics environment to make a significant impact within an agile engineering business.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
*Manufacturing Leadership: Lead all production operations including assembly, wiring, fibre optic manufacture, testing, and final inspection. Develop and mentor the production team, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
*Production Planning: Develop production schedules aligned with customer demand, improve workflow, and ensure effective production planning through accurate MRP data.
*Operational Excellence: Champion Lean Manufacturing principles, identify and eliminate waste, and lead continuous improvement activities to enhance manufacturing efficiency and quality.
*Supply Chain & Materials Management: Work closely with Purchasing to optimise supplier performance and improve inventory control.
*Quality & Compliance: Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 standards, ensure manufacturing processes meet customer and regulatory requirements, and drive reductions in defects and customer returns.
*Financial Performance: Control manufacturing costs, improve productivity, and support budgeting and capacity planning.
*Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with various teams to ensure efficient manufacture and exceed customer expectations, reporting operational performance to senior leadership.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Significant experience managing electronics or electro-mechanical manufacturing operations.
*Strong leadership skills with experience in team development within a high-quality manufacturing environment.
*Proficiency in production planning, scheduling, and Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
*Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and ISO 9001 quality management systems.
*Strong analytical, problem-solving, and commercial skills.
*Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
*Highly desirable: Experience in defence, aerospace, broadcast, fibre optic, or telecommunications manufacturing; knowledge of IPC assembly standards; formal Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma qualification.
