We are a friendly and nurturing nursery in Burnley, dedicated to providing a safe, stimulating, and caring environment where children can learn, develop, and thrive. We are looking for an organised and professional Administrative Assistant to support the smooth day-to-day running of our nursery.
The Role
As an Administrative Assistant, you will be responsible for providing efficient administrative support to the nursery management team, ensuring records are maintained accurately and communications with parents, staff, and external agencies are handled professionally.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator who enjoys working in a busy environment and making a positive contribution to children’s early years education.
Key Responsibilities
*Providing administrative support to the Nursery Manager and leadership team.
*Managing telephone calls, emails, and visitor enquiries in a professional manner.
*Maintaining accurate child, parent, and staff records in line with GDPR requirements.
*Processing nursery registrations, admissions paperwork, and waiting lists.
*Supporting invoicing, payments, and basic financial administration.
*Updating nursery management software and databases.
*Preparing letters, reports, newsletters, and other documentation.
*Maintaining attendance records and assisting with funding paperwork.
*Ordering office supplies and monitoring stock levels.
*Supporting compliance and safeguarding administration.
*Assisting with staff recruitment administration, including reference checks and onboarding paperwork.
*Ensuring all filing systems are accurate, organised, and up to date.
Person Specification
Essential
*Previous experience in an administrative or office-based role.
*Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
*Strong written and verbal communication skills.
*Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
*Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively.
*Professional and friendly approach when dealing with parents, children, staff, and visitors.
*Understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements.
Desirable
*Previous experience working within an educational, childcare, or nursery setting.
*Experience using nursery management systems.
*Knowledge of early years funding processes and childcare administration.
*First Aid or Safeguarding awareness training.
*SIMS/FMS knowledge
