Are you looking for a rewarding role supporting young people in secondary education?
We’re recruiting dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistants to work across Secondary Schools in Newport. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants or candidates with transferable skills who are looking to build a career in education.
The Role
Support pupils in lessons across a range of subjects
Work with students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
Encourage positive behaviour and engagement with learning
Support pupils with additional learning or behavioural needs where required
Work closely with teachers to help pupils reach their full potential
Transferable Experience We Value
We’re keen to hear from candidates with backgrounds in:
Sports Coaching
Youth Work
Residential Children’s Care
Family Support
Drama, Music or Dance
Psychology, Education, Criminology, Health & Social Care or Social Work
Tutoring or Mentoring
Scouts or Guides Leadership
Behaviour Support or Pastoral Care
Volunteering with children or young people
Who We’re Looking For
Experience working with children or young people is essential (work, placement or volunteering)
Confident, resilient and adaptable approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Welsh-speaking desirable but not essential
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
