Are you passionate about helping children learn, grow and succeed?
We’re recruiting enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistants to support pupils across welcoming Primary Schools in Newport. Whether you’re an experienced Teaching Assistant or have transferable experience working with children and young people, we’d love to hear from you.
The Role
Support pupils in the classroom on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
Assist teachers with engaging learning activities
Encourage confidence, independence and positive behaviour
Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
Support pupils with a range of learning needs where required
Transferable Experience We Value

Sports Coach
Nursery Practitioner
Youth Worker
Residential Support Worker
Family Support Worker
Drama or Dance Teacher
Children’s Entertainer
Scout or Guide Leader

Psychology, Education, Health & Social Care or Social Work Student/Graduate
Tutor or Learning Mentor
Volunteer working with children or young people
Who We’re Looking For
Experience working with children or young people is essential (work, placement or volunteering)
Positive, patient and adaptable approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Welsh-speaking desirable but not essential
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
