We’re looking for Science Tutors to provide 1:1 support to children and young people across Hampshire on behalf of Local Authorities. You’ll work with learners who require alternative educational provision, helping them develop subject knowledge, build confidence, and re-engage with learning.
With flexible hours and a September start, this role is well-suited to individuals looking to combine meaningful work with existing commitments while making a lasting difference to students who need additional support.

*Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour


Requirements
*Minimum 6 months’ experience working in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, mentoring, learning support, or similar roles
*Strong Science knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging, tailored sessions
*Experience supporting children and young people with SEND is desirable
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*Patient, adaptable, and encouraging approach
*Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
*Access to a vehicle is desirable; alternatively, willingness to travel within your local area

You may work with learners of varying ages who are accessing alternative provision due to a range of needs, including:
*Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
*Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
*ADHD
*Anxiety and school avoidance
*EHCPs and other additional learning needs
Each student requires an individualised approach, with a focus on engagement, confidence-building, and achieving positive educational outcomes.
