Job Description:
Full job descriptionWe are seeking an empathetic, resilient, and dedicated 1:1 Specialist Tutor to deliver tailored Functional Skills Maths and English to a Year 11 student who benefits from alternative provision and individualized learning support.
Learning takes place in a calm, non-traditional educational environment (an equestrian center in East Boldon) designed to keep the student engaged and comfortable.
Key Responsibilities:*Deliver engaging 1:1 tuition tailored to lower attainment levels, working towards Functional Skills.
*Adapt session delivery to accommodate social, emotional, and sensory needs.
*Maintain clear expectations, consistency, and a safe, supportive space to foster confidence.
*Offer reliable, long-term consistency to build a positive working relationship.
Requirements:*Proven experience working 1:1 with secondary-age students with SEMH, communication, or sensory differences.
*Strong understanding of techniques to support emotional dysregulation and anxiety in learning settings.
*Experience delivering Functional Skills or differentiated English and Maths content.
*Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
*Local to or easily able to commute to East Boldon.
