Hours: Full Time | Monday to Friday | 8:30am - 4:30pm
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Are you a Psychology or Criminology graduate in Farnham, looking to gain invaluable hands-on experience? Or are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs and considering a long-term career in Special Educational Needs (SEN), education, psychology, therapy or youth work?
Academics are recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a specialist education setting near Farnham. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people while developing the skills and experience needed for a rewarding career in education or related professions.
Working as part of a supportive and experienced team, you will provide tailored support to students with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, communication difficulties and associated behaviours. Every day is different, and you’ll play a vital role in helping students build confidence, develop independence and achieve both academically and personally.
The Role*Full-time position in Farnham, Monday to Friday (8:30am - 4:30pm)
*Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
*Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
*Helping deliver engaging and personalised learning activities
*Building strong relationships with pupils, staff and families
*Creating a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment
Who We’re Looking For*Psychology, Criminology or Education graduates looking to gain practical experience
*Individuals considering careers in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Teaching or SEN
*Experience working with children or vulnerable young people is desirable but not essential
*Patient, resilient and empathetic individuals with excellent communication skills
*A positive attitude and genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
*Able to commute to Farnham
