Elevation Recruitment Group is working with a leading name in national distribution to find an experienced Transport Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of day-to-day operations across a busy National Distribution Centre, with genuine scope to influence performance, compliance, and continuous improvement across both warehousing and transport functions.
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role. You’ll be a key part of the site’s management structure, and will step up to cover full site responsibility in the General Manager’s absence.
The Role:
*Take ownership of daily operations, ensuring all KPIs and service level targets are consistently met
*Ensure all transport activity is fully compliant with DVSA regulations
*Deputise for the General Manager as required, taking full accountability for the site
*Drive productivity across the team and oversee accurate shift reporting
*Monitor and manage staff performance across shifts
*Ensure full adherence to Warehouse Management System (WMS) procedures
*Manage staffing levels to meet operational need while remaining within budget
*Lead stock investigations and uphold high standards of hygiene and housekeeping
About You:
*Proven experience within a warehouse or wholesale distribution environment - ideally within the chilled/ambient market
*Solid working knowledge of health, safety, and retail compliance legislation
*Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
*Excellent time management
*A track record of delivering strong customer service and satisfaction outcomes
*Confident people leader, able to build teams, delegate effectively, and give clear direction
*Strong verbal and written communication skills
*An attentive, active listener
