Full job descriptionRobert Half is recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing business based north of Leeds city centre, for an experienced Purchase Ledger Supervisor to join their finance team on a maternity cover contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on and organised finance professional to take ownership of the purchase ledger function, while supervising a small team and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of accounts payable operations.
Key Responsibilities:*Supervising the purchase ledger team and overseeing daily workflow
*Managing the end-to-end purchase ledger process
*Ensuring supplier invoices are processed accurately and on time
*Handling supplier statement reconciliations and resolving queries
*Supporting payment runs and ensuring deadlines are met
*Monitoring processes and identifying improvements to enhance efficiency
*Assisting with month-end close activities related to accounts payable
*Building strong working relationships with internal departments and external suppliers
Candidate Profile:*Previous experience in a Purchase Ledger Supervisor or senior accounts payable role
*Strong understanding of end-to-end purchase ledger processes
*Experience supervising or mentoring team members
*Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
*Confident communicator with the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively
*Previous experience within manufacturing or a similar fast-paced environment would be advantageous
*Proficient in finance systems and Excel
The Role:*Fixed-term contract covering maternity leave
*Onsite working needed minimum 3 days a week
*Based north of Leeds city centre
