Full job descriptionEngineering Manager Opportunity for a dynamic Engineering Manager to lead and develop the engineering and planning function at this part 145 aviation maintenance organisation in Harlow. This is a hands-on leadership role combining people management with technical ownership and project delivery-ideal for someone who enjoys building teams, improving processes, and driving engineering excellence.
Key Responsibilities*Lead, mentor and develop the engineering and planning teams, promoting collaboration, innovation and high standards.
*Support performance management, coaching, and career development plans for engineers.
*Recruit, onboard and retain top engineering talent.
*Oversee end-to-end delivery of engineering projects, ensuring quality, time and budget targets are achieved.
*Work closely with Planning, Quality and other stakeholders to define scope, requirements, milestones and resource plans.
*Allocate resources effectively and prioritise workload to maximise productivity and output quality.
*Drive technical decision-making and promote best practice in machining and engineering.
*Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements to processes, workflows and controls.
*Communicate project status, risks and milestones clearly to senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
*Ensure outputs meet relevant standards, security policies and regulatory requirements; manage approved data and technical publications.
*Undertake other duties within your capabilities as required.
Requirements*Minimum 5 years’ engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership/management role.
*A solid understanding of Part 145 aviation maintenance,
*Proven experience delivering engineering projects.
*Strong technical background and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
*Excellent leadership, communication and people management skills.
*Proactive problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset.
