About the RoleAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Accountant to join a growing and forward-thinking accountancy practice based in Manchester.
This role is ideal for someone with experience managing a portfolio of clients who is looking to further develop their career within a supportive and expanding firm. You’ll work closely with a broad range of SMEs, providing high-quality accounting and tax services while becoming a trusted advisor to your clients.
You’ll be given responsibility from day one, genuine opportunities for progression, and the chance to play a key role in the continued growth of the business.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs an Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
*Managing your own portfolio of clients.
*Preparing year-end statutory accounts.
*Preparing Corporation Tax and Personal Tax returns.
*Producing VAT returns and assisting with PAYE and payroll.
*Acting as the main point of contact for client queries via phone and email.
*Building strong, long-term client relationships.
*Ensuring client records remain accurate and up to date.
*Keeping abreast of changes to tax legislation and accounting standards.
*Supporting the continued growth and development of the practice.
About YouTo be considered, you should have:
*Around 1-3 years’ experience in an accountancy practice or similar client-facing accounting role.
*Experience preparing statutory accounts and tax returns.
*AAT qualified or currently studying towards AAT, ACCA or ACA.
*Experience using bookkeeping and cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage.
*Strong Microsoft Excel and Office skills.
*Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
*A proactive approach with the ability to manage your own workload.
*Strong communication skills and the confidence to build lasting client relationships.
