A well-established independent accountancy practice in The Wirral is looking to appoint a Senior Accountant / Client Manager, paying £35,000 - £40,000. This is a varied, client-facing role offering responsibility for an established SME portfolio, involvement in advisory work and the opportunity to support the development of junior colleagues.

Senior Accountant / Client Manager Responsibilities:
*Managing a varied portfolio of SME clients, including limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
*Acting as the principal point of contact and building trusted, long-term client relationships.
*Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and corporation tax returns.
*Preparing and reviewing personal tax returns, identifying relevant tax-planning opportunities.
*Advising clients on accounting, taxation and general business matters.
*Managing deadlines and workflow across your portfolio while maintaining high standards of quality.
*Reviewing work completed by junior colleagues and providing practical guidance, mentoring and support.
*Working closely with the firm’s senior leadership team on advisory assignments and practice-development projects.
Senior Accountant / Client Manager Attributes:
*ACCA or FMAAT qualified, or holding an equivalent professional qualification.
*At least five years’ experience gained within a UK accountancy practice.
*Previous experience managing your own portfolio of clients.
*Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting and taxation.
*Confident managing client relationships and communicating with business owners.
*Experience using cloud-accounting packages such as Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent or Sage.
*Knowledge of TaxCalc would be beneficial but is not essential.
*Comfortable reviewing work and supporting the development of junior team members.
*Proactive, commercially aware and able to manage competing deadlines effectively.
