Full job descriptionJunior / Trainee Manufacturing Engineer (Planning & Engineering)
Join an established Manufacturing Engineering team as a Junior/Trainee Manufacturing Engineer and learn all aspects of manufacturing engineering. You’ll help translate customer drawings and bills of material into clear manufacturing planning instructions for sheet metal and machined parts, sub-assemblies and top-level assemblies, supporting both military and commercial aircraft work.
Key responsibilities
*Complete contract review for new and repeat orders.
*Interpret customer drawings, specifications, quality and regulatory requirements into a method of manufacture.
*Create manufacturing planning instructions, routings and bills of materials (BOMs).
*Plan manufacturing operations and sequences to achieve the most effective, economical method.
*Use the Kinetic MRP/ERP system to enter set & run times and create jobs (from customer POs/internal sales orders or MRP suggestions).
*Download/print job travellers and build accurate job packs (drawings, BOMs, COS, customer process sheets, etc.) for production.
*Raise requisitions for materials, tooling and outsourced processes (AGS) as required.
*Work closely with supervisors/operators and liaise with customers to resolve engineering/manufacturing issues.
*Ensure documentation is controlled and logged in line with the company QMS.
*Support the Engineering Manager and assist with NCR/RCCA activity where required.
What we’re looking for
Essential:
*Completed an engineering apprenticeship and/or strong base engineering knowledge.
*Experience in a manufacturing environment (aviation/aerospace desirable, not essential).
*Strong communication skills; organised and able to manage workload.
*Team player with a genuine desire to learn and progress.
Desirable:
*MRP/ERP experience (Kinetic advantageous).
*Catia V5 / 3D model knowledge.
*Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Hours: Mon-Thu 07:30-17:00, Fri 07:30-11:30
