Do you have the resilience, patience, and confidence to support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
We are recruiting for an Intervention Mentor to join a supportive and well-established Secondary SEMH School in Bolton from September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in education, youth work, residential care, sports coaching, mentoring, or behaviour support who is looking to help young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
The Role:As an Intervention Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who require additional emotional, behavioural, and academic support. You will deliver targeted interventions, build positive relationships, and help students develop the confidence and skills they need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
Responsibilities:*Deliver targeted interventions on a 1:1 and small group basis.
*Support pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours.
*Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.
*Build trusting relationships that promote engagement and attendance.
*Work alongside teachers, pastoral staff, and external professionals to support individual learning plans.
*Provide classroom support where required.
We’re Looking For Someone Who:*Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, or additional needs.
*Has a calm, resilient, and empathetic approach.
*Can build strong, positive relationships with vulnerable young people.
*Is confident managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies.
*Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to their own vehicle.
*Is willing to obtain business insurance if required.
*Has an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
