Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Do you have the resilience, patience, and enthusiasm to support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
We are recruiting for a dedicated Intervention Mentor to join a supportive and forward-thinking Secondary SEMH School in Bolton from September 2026.
This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity for someone who is committed to helping young people overcome barriers to learning, develop positive relationships, and achieve both academically and personally.
The RoleAs an Intervention Mentor, you will work closely with students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, delivering targeted interventions to support behaviour, emotional wellbeing, attendance, and engagement in learning. You will build positive relationships with pupils who may have experienced trauma, adverse childhood experiences, or significant challenges in mainstream education.
You will work alongside teachers, pastoral staff, and external professionals to create strategies that help students thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
We’re Looking For Someone Who:*Has experience working with young people with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or additional needs.
*Has a calm, patient, and resilient approach.
*Can build positive, trusting relationships with vulnerable young people.
*Is confident managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies.
*Is a strong communicator who can work effectively as part of a team.
*Holds a full UK driving licence, has access to their own vehicle, and is willing to obtain business insurance if required.
Experience in education, youth work, residential care, support work, sports coaching, mentoring, or similar settings is highly desirable.
