Full job descriptionAs an Assistant Accountant in the FMCG industry, you’ll handle day-to-day financial tasks to keep the accounts organised and running smoothly. Based in Borehamwood, this role ensures the accuracy of financial records and supports the wider finance team.

Description
*Manage weekly trade processing, including reviewing and processing site trading information and compiling trading statistics.
*Ensure all revenue is received and reconciled accurately and on time.
*Reconcile joint venture events and ensure third-party settlements are correctly accounted for.
*Investigate and escalate trading anomalies where appropriate.
*Provide operational finance support, including wage percentage analysis and identifying trading inefficiencies, overspending, and unusual discount activity.
*Perform bank reconciliations and support treasury activities, including weekly payment proposals.
*Monitor compliance with financial controls, approval limits, and contract documentation requirements.
*Support monthly finance processes, including ledger management, reconciliations, reporting, management accounts support, cash management, and year-end audit activities.
*Assist with payroll processing and reconciliations.
*Provide support to Purchase Ledger and Credit Control teams to ensure timely supplier payments and debt collection.
*Assist with PRS submissions and other ad hoc finance projects.
Profile
A successful Assistant Accountant should have:
*Multi-site experience
*A good understanding of accounting principles and practices.
*Experience in the FMCG industry.
*Ability to build strong relationships with venue management and operational teams.
*Maintain a well-controlled finance function with accurate and timely financial information.
*Ability to deliver clear, insightful reporting that supports business performance and decision-making.
