An established engineering consultancy is looking to recruit a Geotechnical Design Engineer to join its growing team in Reading. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a wide range of residential, commercial and infrastructure projects, delivering geotechnical designs from initial site investigation through to construction.
You’ll be joining a supportive and technically strong team where you’ll work alongside experienced geotechnical, civil and structural engineers, gaining exposure to challenging projects and clear opportunities for career progression.
The Role*Produce geotechnical designs for foundations, retaining walls, slope stability and earthworks.
*Interpret ground investigation data and provide geotechnical recommendations.
*Carry out design calculations and prepare technical reports.
*Undertake geotechnical assessments and foundation appraisals.
*Liaise with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams.
*Support project delivery from feasibility through to construction.
*Attend site visits when required to review ground conditions and monitor works.
Requirements*Degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or Geotechnical Engineering.
*Around 2-5 years’ experience in a geotechnical design role.
*Experience interpreting ground investigation data and producing geotechnical designs.
*Knowledge of Eurocodes and current UK design standards.
*Experience using software such as Oasys, PLAXIS, GeoStudio or similar is desirable.
*Strong technical reporting and communication skills.
*Full UK driving licence.
