Pay Rate: £13.26 per hour paye
Full Time: Temporary Assignment - 4 Weeks


Kirklees Council are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Refuse Collector to join our Environmental Services team based at George Street Depot, Dewsbury for a 4-week temporary assignment.
This is a physically active role where you will work as part of a dedicated team helping to keep the borough clean, safe, and environmentally responsible.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Refuse Collector, you will:
*Collect household and commercial waste safely and efficiently.
*Collect a variety of waste streams including:
*General refuse
*Recycling
*Clinical bagged waste
*Garden waste
*Bulky items
*Other waste materials

*Assist with skip collections where required.
*Collect refuse from bins, bags and designated collection points, including properties requiring assisted collections.
*Return bins appropriately without causing obstruction.
*Safely operate lifting equipment in line with risk assessments and operational guidance.
*Report waste-related concerns, including overflowing or unpresented bins.
*Assist in recording information using technology such as in-cab systems.
*Provide information and guidance to members of the public regarding refuse collection arrangements.
*Complete timesheets, accident reports and other records accurately and on time.
*Support and guide less experienced colleagues where required.
*Identify and report issues that may affect service delivery.
*Assist with additional cleansing duties including:
*Street cleaning
*Snow clearing
*Gritting
*Community clean-up projects
*Waste sorting activities
*Delivery of bins and liners

*Report accidents, defects and repair requirements promptly.
*Follow all health, safety and security procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
