Full job descriptionGCSE English & Maths Tutor - St Helens
The Opportunity
Prospero Teaching is looking for enthusiastic GCSE English & Maths Tutors to support secondary-aged students across St Helens.
Working on a 1:1 basis, you’ll help learners strengthen subject knowledge, prepare for examinations and develop the confidence they need to succeed. Sessions are personalised to suit each student’s individual learning style and academic needs.
Position Details
* Location: St Helens
* Position: GCSE English & Maths Tutor
* Hours: 5-15 hours per week
* Start Date: September 2026
* Duration: Ongoing
Experience, Training and Qualifications
Successful applicants will have:
* Experience teaching GCSE English and/or Maths
* QTS, PGCE or equivalent qualification (preferred)
* Strong curriculum knowledge
* Excellent communication skills
To be eligible, you must:
* Hold the Right to Work in the UK
* Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service, or be willing to apply
* Provide two professional child-related references
