Prospero Teaching is recruiting confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across the Southampton area. This role involves supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring pupils remain engaged with their learning and maintaining a positive classroom environment.
You will be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lesson materials, managing classroom behaviour, and supporting students while they complete set work. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to gain valuable classroom experience, including graduates, aspiring teachers, sports coaches, tutors, youth workers, and experienced education professionals.

The Role:
*Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher
*Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions
*Maintain positive behaviour and classroom expectations
*Support pupils with completing lesson tasks
*Ensure a safe and productive learning environment
*Cover a variety of subjects across KS3 and KS4
*Liaise with teaching staff and report on lesson outcomes
*Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently

*Experience working with young people
*Confident managing groups of students independently
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills
*Calm, professional, and adaptable approach
*Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
*Excellent organisational and behaviour management skills

*Position: Cover Supervisor
*Location: Southampton
*Start Date: ASAP
*Working Pattern: Full-time or flexible day-to-day
*Pay Rate: Up to £130 per day
*Key Stages: KS3-KS4
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
*Experience working with young people essential
*Classroom or behaviour-management experience beneficial
*Safeguarding training can be provided
