Robert Half is exclusively partnering with a large, well-established infrastructure and engineering organisation to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant into its high-performing Financial Control team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong ACA or ACCA-qualified accountant looking to take ownership of complex financial reporting, statutory accounts, IFRS compliance and audit delivery within a sizeable and sophisticated business.
The position offers significant exposure to senior finance leadership, group reporting and technical accounting matters, while providing genuine scope to influence processes and controls across the wider finance function.
The RoleReporting to the Financial Controller, the Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for maintaining robust financial controls, delivering high-quality financial reporting and supporting the business on a range of technical accounting and tax matters.
Key responsibilities include:
*Ownership and continuous improvement of balance sheet controls and reconciliations
*Leading IFRS 16 lease accounting and ensuring compliance across the business
*Preparing and analysing quarterly group reporting submissions
*Producing statutory accounts and ensuring alignment with management and group reporting
*Coordinating and managing the year-end external audit process
*Providing technical accounting guidance across finance and non-finance teams
*Supporting corporation tax, R&D tax claims, VAT and CIS compliance
*Driving process improvements and strengthening internal controls
*Coaching and supporting members of the finance team
*Supporting the Financial Controller on a range of strategic finance initiatives and projects
About You*ACA or ACCA qualified
*Strong technical accounting and financial reporting experience
*Experience preparing statutory accounts
*Knowledge of IFRS and financial control environments
*Previous involvement in external audits
*Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
*Advanced Excel and ERP system knowledge
*Proactive, commercially aware and solutions-focused
