Full job descriptionOutreach Tutor - St HelensThe OpportunityProspero Teaching is recruiting committed Outreach Tutors to support children and young people across St Helens through flexible 1:1 tuition.
This role involves working with learners who may be accessing alternative provision, awaiting a school placement or experiencing barriers to mainstream education. You’ll deliver tailored tuition while helping students rebuild confidence, develop positive learning habits and achieve meaningful educational progress.
Position Details*Location: St Helens

*Position: Outreach Tutor

*Hours: 5-15 hours per week (flexible)

*Start Date: September 2026

*Duration: Ongoing

Experience, Training and QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have:
*Experience delivering 1:1 tuition or mentoring

*Experience supporting learners with SEND, SEMH or those who are disengaged from education

*QTS or equivalent teaching qualification (preferred)

*Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

To be eligible, you must:*Hold the Right to Work in the UK

*Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one

*Provide two professional child-related references
