We’re recruiting on behalf of a successful and progressive organisation based in Chesterfield, conveniently located just a short walk from the train station. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an Accounts Assistant with a sales ledger focus on an initial 12 month fixed term contract.


Working closely with the Finance Manager and supporting the Accounts Receivable Team Leader, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the sales ledger function while gaining exposure across the wider finance department.


The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
*Processing and allocating customer cash receipts accurately.
*Supporting the day to day management of the Accounts Receivable inbox.
*Investigating and resolving customer account queries in a timely manner.
*Assisting with cash management activities and maintaining accurate customer accounts.
*Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc transactional finance duties as required.
*Contributing to process improvements and maintaining high standards of accuracy.


About You
To be successful in this position you’ll ideally have:
*Previous experience working within a transactional finance environment.
*Sales ledger or accounts receivable experience would be advantageous.
*Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.
*Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships.
*A proactive, organised approach with strong attention to detail.
*A positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues across the finance team.
*A genuine team-player mentality with the desire to learn and develop.
