Job Description:
Full job descriptionUK thriving, independent cost consultancy is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its London team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to work on high-profile projects across sectors including commercial, residential, hospitality, life sciences, and mixed-use development.
The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will take the lead on a number of key commissions, managing projects from early feasibility and cost planning through to procurement, construction, and final account. You will act as a trusted commercial advisor to clients, provide clear strategic guidance, and ensure projects remain financially controlled throughout their lifecycle.
This role would suit a commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor who enjoys leading projects, building strong client relationships, and supporting junior colleagues. It offers a genuine opportunity to gain greater influence, broaden your project exposure, and progress within a collaborative consultancy environment.
Senior Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities:
*Leading cost management commissions from inception through to completion
*Preparing cost plans, estimates, budgets, and commercial strategies
*Managing procurement processes, tender documentation, and contractor evaluations
*Overseeing valuations, variations, change control, and final accounts
*Producing detailed financial reports and advising clients on project risk
*Chairing commercial meetings and coordinating with design and delivery teams
*Mentoring junior surveyors and supporting their professional development
Senior Quantity Surveyor - Candidate Requirements:
*Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
*Strong experience within a UK consultancy environment
*Proven ability to manage projects independently across pre- and post-contract stages
*Sound knowledge of JCT contracts and common procurement routes
*Strong client-facing, communication, and leadership skills
*MRICS qualified or nearing completion of the APC
*Commercially focused with excellent attention to detail

*£70,000-£80,000 per annum
