Full job descriptionThis is an exceptional opportunity for a Management Accountant to join a thriving consulting business based in Milton Keynes, offering a competitive salary of £50,000-£60,000.

What you’ll do:
*Take full ownership of the management accounts for the UK Consulting entity, including Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheet and Cash flow across more than 50 projects.
*Provide detailed reports, insights and analysis on gross margin and overhead variances against forecast and budget to inform business decisions.
*Act as the first point of contact for operational and commercial business teams, fostering collaborative relationships across departments.
*Work closely with senior management to support strategic objectives through accurate financial information and business partnering.
*Oversee reconciliation of the entire Balance Sheet including Invoice Discounting and project balances to ensure accuracy and compliance.
*Maintain and enhance financial accounting systems, processes and controls to drive efficiency and reliability within finance operations.
*Participate actively in forecasting and budgeting processes to help shape future business performance.
*Offer ad hoc support for divisional and group analysis as well as project work when required by stakeholders.
*Prepare working papers for annual statutory accounts and assist with audit reviews to meet regulatory requirements.
*Manage VAT calculation, reconciliation, reporting and submission to HMRC ensuring timely compliance.
What you bring:
*Part-Qualified/Finalist level accountant status (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) is essential for this role to ensure technical proficiency.
*Excellent communication skills enabling you to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels inside and outside finance.
*Outstanding organisational abilities paired with high attention to detail so you can manage multiple projects simultaneously.
*Proven analytical skills allowing you to interpret complex financial data accurately for actionable insights.
*Flexible approach combined with an enthusiastic attitude towards problem-solving within a communal team setting.
*Experience in maintaining or enhancing financial accounting systems which supports reliable reporting processes.
*Ability to participate constructively in forecasting and budgeting activities alongside other finance professionals.
*Demonstrated capability in preparing statutory accounts documentation and supporting audit reviews efficiently.
*Knowledge of VAT calculation procedures including reconciliation, reporting and submission requirements for HMRC compliance.
