Full job description SEN Maths Teacher (Part-Time – 3 Days per Week)
Start: September
Make a real difference where it matters most.
We are seeking an inspiring SEN Maths Teacher to join our dedicated and passionate team at a well-regarded Pupil Referral Unit, recently rated ’Good’ by OFSTED.
About Us
Our school provides a supportive, alternative education for young people who need it most. We work with pupils across KS4 (Years 10 & 11), including those on long-term placements and those who have been excluded from mainstream education.
With small class sizes (maximum of 40 pupils on roll) and a highly skilled support team, we focus not only on academic achievement, but also on helping our students develop confidence, emotional resilience, and positive behaviours.
Every day, we aim to create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where pupils can thrive.
The Role
We are looking for a dedicated and engaging Maths Teacher who can inspire learners and help them succeed both academically and personally.
This is a part-time role (3 days per week), ideal for someone seeking flexibility while making a meaningful impact.
What You’ll Be Doing
*Deliver engaging KS4 Maths lessons that inspire and motivate
*Support pupils with diverse needs to build confidence and independence
*Set and maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement
*Use strong behaviour management strategies to create a positive learning environment
*Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies
*Play an active role in our supportive and close-knit team culture
What We’re Looking For
*Experience teaching Maths at KS4 level
*A confident and resilient approach to behaviour management
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*A creative, engaging teaching style that resonates with all learners
*A commitment to going the extra mile for pupils
*A great sense of humour and a positive outlook
Applications welcome from both experienced teachers and ECTs/NQTs.
Experience teaching additional subjects is a bonus, but not essential.
What We Offer
*A welcoming, supportive, and friendly team
*Strong leadership and a collaborative working environment
*Opportunities for professional development and career progression
*The chance to truly change lives and see your impact every day
Why Join Us?
This is more than a teaching role — it’s an opportunity to help young people re-engage with education, rebuild confidence, and unlock their potential.
If you are passionate about making a difference and thrive in a dynamic, rewarding environment, we would love to hear from you.
