Full job descriptionData Centre Operations Analyst
Gatwick | 3 Month Fixed Term Contract | Up to £40,000 pro rata
Our client, a fast-growing, private equity-backed data centre operator with an expanding footprint across the UK, Ireland and the Nordics, is looking for a hands-on Data Centre Operations Analyst to join their Gatwick site on a 3-month fixed-term contract.
This is a great opportunity for someone with solid data centre or infrastructure experience to get stuck into a varied, hands-on role at the heart of a critical operations environment — supporting everything from hardware deployments to physical security and out-of-hours monitoring.
Please note: applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and be eligible for SC clearance to be considered for this role.
What you’ll be doing:
*Rack and stack work — installing, relocating and decommissioning servers, network kit and storage
*Copper and fibre patching, cabling audits, and fault-finding on connectivity issues
*Provisioning and documenting cross-connects between customer cabinets and network providers
*Responding to remote hands requests and supporting incident resolution on-site
*Assisting with change requests, upgrades, and project-based deployment work
*Out-of-hours BMS monitoring and escalation, plus support with weekly fire system testing
*Media handling (tape swaps, logging, secure movements)
*Acting as a Fire Warden and First Aider as part of the site team
*Delivering a strong, proactive customer service experience to internal and external stakeholders
What we’re looking for:
*Solid understanding of data centre fundamentals — power, cooling, structured cabling, and networking
*Hands-on experience with hardware installation, diagnostics, and cable fault-finding
*Sharp attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving
*Comfortable working in a physically active, safety-critical environment
*Flexible and willing to work shifts, including nights, weekends and on-call rotations
*A calm, structured head under pressure, with the ability to work independently
*Full UK driving licence and eligibility for SC clearance (essential)
Why apply?
Join a business at the centre of one of the fastest-growing sectors in UK infrastructure, working alongside experienced operators on high-value, high-visibility projects — with real scope to build your data centre career from the ground up.
