Full job descriptionLeasehold Alteration Surveyor
Location: West London
Rate: £400 per day
Contract: Initial 3 months (extension likely)
Spencer Clarke Group are supporting a local authority to appoint a Leasehold Surveyor into a Housing/Capital Investment function.
This is a hands-on role overseeing leaseholder alteration requests and investigating unauthorised works, plus acting as the Council’s adjoining owner surveyor under the Party Wall Act. You will also provide wider project/contract support across housing assets, including complex building surveying issues.
Responsibilities include
*Managing the leaseholder alterations process from enquiry through to inspection and sign-off
*Investigating unauthorised alterations and supporting enforcement action where required
*Ensuring compliance across Building Control, Planning, H&S, asbestos management, fire integrity, access, noise, waste management and safe systems of work
*Acting as adjoining owner surveyor under the Party Wall Act, including pre, during and post works inspections
*Supporting project delivery and contract administration, including specifications, tendering, valuations and final accounts
*Working across stakeholders (repairs, H&S, home ownership, FRA/fire teams, planning/building control, contractors and consultants)
About you
*Degree (or equivalent) in Building Surveying
*Strong working knowledge of Party Wall Act and acting as a party wall surveyor
*Good understanding of leasehold legislation and Section 20 (Commonhold and Leasehold Reform related consultation)
*Experience with contract admin, tendering and managing works on site
*Confident dealing with complex building surveying issues and statutory compliance
*Strong written and verbal communication
