Full job descriptionRobert Half are partnering with a well-established, national organisation within the health and social care sector to recruit an experienced Credit Controller. This is an excellent opportunity to join a purpose-driven business where your work directly supports the delivery of essential services across the UK.
We’re looking for a proactive and resilient credit professional who has experience managing complex debtor accounts, with particular exposure to Local Authority and NHS customers. You’ll join a collaborative finance team focused on maximising cash collection, resolving queries efficiently and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.
The RoleReporting into the Credit Manager, you’ll take ownership of a portfolio of accounts, ensuring outstanding debt is collected in a timely and professional manner while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Key responsibilities include:
*Managing the end-to-end credit control process across a high-volume ledger.
*Chasing outstanding debt via phone, email and written correspondence.
*Building strong working relationships with Local Authorities, NHS Trusts and internal stakeholders.
*Investigating and resolving invoice and payment queries to minimise delays in collection.
*Allocating cash and credit notes accurately.
*Performing detailed account reconciliations.
*Maintaining accurate records of collection activity and debt recovery actions.
*Producing regular updates on aged debt and collection performance.
*Supporting continuous improvement within the credit control function.
About YouYou’ll be an experienced Credit Controller with excellent communication skills and a methodical approach to problem solving.
You’ll ideally have:
*Proven end-to-end credit control experience.
*Previous experience collecting debt from Local Authorities and/or NHS organisations (essential).
*Strong reconciliation and cash allocation skills.
*Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP and SUMIF.
*Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
*The ability to build relationships while confidently managing difficult conversations.
*A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
*Experience working within a hybrid team environment.
