Full job descriptionManagement Accountant
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the Management Accountant will be a key member of the Finance team, supporting the delivery of accurate financial reporting and analysis across the business. The role will focus on assisting with the preparation of management accounts, maintaining robust financial controls, and providing insight to support operational and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
*Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring reporting deadlines are achieved.
*Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve any outstanding reconciling items.
*Prepare and review month-end journals, including accruals and prepayments, while analysing performance against budgets and forecasts.
*Produce regular financial reports, identifying key trends, variances, and areas requiring further investigation.
*Support the budgeting and forecasting process through financial analysis and reporting.
*Maintain accurate financial records and ensure reconciliations are completed in a timely manner.
*Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support business initiatives and operational decisions.
*Work closely with stakeholders across different departments, providing financial support and commercial insight.
*Assist with finance system implementation projects and continuous process improvement initiatives.
*Contribute to strengthening internal controls and improving the efficiency of finance processes.
*Collaborate with the wider finance team to ensure the accurate and timely completion of month-end activities.
About You
*A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a finance or accounting role.
*Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
*Good Excel skills, including the ability to work confidently with formulas, functions, and financial data.
*Well organised and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
*A proactive, motivated approach with a strong willingness to learn and develop.
*Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across the business.
