Job Title: Construction Tutor (Trainee or Qualified)
*SEE CONSTRUCTION AREAS BELOW*
Location: Centre based
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 - Depending on skills and experience
Package: Excellent Holiday Entitlement, Pension + more
Type: Full Time, Permanent
We have a selection of Construction Tutor roles available, all are open to trainee or qualified Tutors; the successful candidate will be supported to achieve the relevant teaching and/or assessing qualifications if required.
*Carpentry Tutor
*Wall and Floor Tiling Tutor
*Multi Skilled Construction Tutor; Carpentry, Plumbing, Wall and Floor Tiling, Painting and Decorating, Dry Lining, ICT and Food Safety (Cover at least 2 or 3 of these skills)
Essential Criteria:*Candidates must hold a minimum of a level 2 NVQ in their chosen field, for example; a Level 2 in Carpentry or a Level 2 Wall and Floor Tiling etc.
*Must be an expert in your field with substantial hands-on competency – minimum of 5 years hands on experience.
*Hold own GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C or above / Functional Skills equivalents.
*Comfortable to deliver classroom / workshop-based training to small groups.
*Happy to undertake the relevant teaching and/or assessing qualifications.
Duties:*Teach/assess learners within a classroom-based environment, working towards vocational qualifications in any of the following vocations; Carpentry, Wall and Floor Tiling, and Multi Skilled Construction (e.g. Painting and Decorating / Dry Lining etc.),
*Support learners working towards Functional Skills English and Maths up to Level 2.
*Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learner’s needs.
*Ensure sessions are motivating, engaging and develop learners’ skills knowledge and behaviours
*Monitor student attendance and progress through regular student assessment and reviews.
*Provide advice and guidance to learners relating to decision making and progression.
