We are seeking a Technical Manager to oversee our factory operations, ensuring compliance with legislative, safety, and quality standards. This role is crucial for maintaining our commitment to high standards in food production, acting as the first point of contact for both internal and external issue escalations. The Technical Manager will also substitute for the Head of Technical when required and play a key role in coordinating all factory audits.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Act as the first point of contact for escalation of technical issues, ensuring the factory adheres to legislative, safety, and quality standards.
*Develop and maintain a robust online Quality System on Quor, meeting legal requirements and customer Codes of Practice.
*Coordinate and lead all factory audits, ensuring timely implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
*Drive improvements in site KPIs, aiming to enhance audit scores and reduce customer complaints.
*Manage and support the QA team daily, including performance reviews, team meetings, and HR-related issues.
*Engage in the site’s internal audit programme, promoting compliance and continuous improvement.
*Maintain effective communication with all internal disciplines and act as a key contact for technical matters affecting product safety, legality, and quality.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*HND or higher in Food Technology or a related discipline.
*Experience in a food manufacturing environment
*Proven track record of dealing with major retailers and understanding of food legislation, especially legal labelling.
*Strong knowledge of retail Codes of Practice and critical path management.
*Excellent communication skills, capable of managing customer-facing roles.
*Experience with Quor is beneficial but not essential.
