Assistant AccountantLiverpool | Hybrid Working | Study Support Provided
Looking for a role that will accelerate your accounting career?We’re recruiting for an ambitious Assistant Accountant to join a growing and purpose-driven organisation based in Liverpool. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone studying towards an accounting qualification, or looking to continue their professional development, while gaining exposure to a broad range of management accounting and commercial finance responsibilities.
You’ll work closely with an experienced finance team, gaining hands-on involvement in management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, analysis and business partnering activities. What you’ll be doingThis is a varied role that will give you exposure across multiple areas of finance, including:
*Producing weekly management accounts, KPIs and supporting analysis
*Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
*Analysing financial performance and investigating variances against budgets and forecasts
*Completing bank reconciliations and cash reconciliations
*Preparing payroll analysis and associated journals
*Managing accruals and prepayments
*Producing balance sheet reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
*Supporting annual budgeting and forecasting processes
*Assisting with year-end audit requirements and liaising with auditors
*Conducting internal audit reviews to strengthen financial controls
*Preparing supporting information for taxation calculations and reporting
*Working with stakeholders across the business to provide meaningful financial insight
About YouWe’re looking for someone who is motivated, eager to learn and keen to build a long-term career in finance.
You’ll ideally have:
*Previous experience within an Assistant Accountant or similar role
*Experience supporting or producing management accounts
*Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data
*Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business
*Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
*The ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines
