Join our dynamic team as an Import/Export Car/Motor Vehicle Operative, where you will manage international, UK, and European operations ensuring the seamless movement of cars, bikes, and other vehicles. This role is perfect for a proactive individual with a positive attitude, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to solve problems effectively under pressure.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
*Coordinate end-to-end import and export shipments and UK transport across sea, road, and air, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and profitability.
*Manage key client accounts, provide strategic support, handle escalations, and maintain strong long-term relationships.
*Oversee complex documentation and customs processes, including tariff classification, VAT/Duty calculations, ATA and Carnet de Passage, Temporary Imports, and NOVA Declarations.
*Negotiate rates and service agreements with carriers, shipping lines, airlines, vehicle packers, and overseas agents to secure competitive pricing and service levels.
*Provide expert guidance on trade compliance, customs requirements, and international shipping regulations.
*Support commercial decision-making by preparing quotations, analysing margins, and contributing to pricing strategies.
*Handle shipment exceptions and high-impact issues, proactively resolving delays, disputes, and operational challenges.
*Maintain accurate operational and financial records, ensuring data integrity within freight management systems such as MultiFreight or similar platforms.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*2-3 years+ experience in international car shipping and motor vehicle transport.
*Strong organizational skills, clear communication, and attention to detail.
*Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
*Familiarity with container and RoRo car/vehicle shipping, customs rules, export declarations, carnets, import declarations, and Dangerous Goods Awareness.
